On Fridays, I will be sharing some of my “favorites”. I am starting off with my favorite blogs and websites for work at home mom entrepreneurs with a brief snippet regarding why I think that they are “simply the best”.
1. WAHM.com
This is one of the top sites for work at home moms. It provides a lot of helpful information including job boards and a large forum for work at home moms.
2. About.com’s Work-at-Home Moms
A part of About.com, this site is a beneficial lens for work at home moms. In addition to providing tips and advice regarding how to make money for WAHM entrepreneurs and telecommuters, it also offers family fun and parenting advice.
3. WAHM 2.0
A part of Sparkplugging, this blog is geared towards direct sales mom business owners. Direct sales is not how I make money from home, but I know several moms who have built successful careers in direct marketing. Also, the lessons learned in direct sales is great training for practically any other business venture. (Although I was awful at it/ended up GIVING the products away to friends and family, I still remember what I was taught when I “sold” Mary Kay and Discovery Toys.)
4. It’s A WAHM Thing
One of my favorite sayings is “Success leaves clues”. That is why I really enjoy learning from a variety of people who are already where I want to be in a particular area of my life. The co-founders of this site, Missy Ward and Rae Hoffman, are affiliate marketing (one way to monetize your sites) superstars and their site consistently offers valuable advice on a wide range of work at home mom topics.
5. Christian Work at Home Mom Ministries
This site is a great resource for Christian work at home moms. In addition to articles about starting and growing a business, there are also devotionals and beneficial tips on life “balance” from a biblical perspective.
