Fourth of July Recipes, Successful Blogs & More (Friday Favorites)

frriday favorites - june 24th

Happy Friday! One and a half more days of school are left. The countdown has definitely started in the Coleman household. Anyway, this week held a lot of fun things. Below are my favorites:

1. Settlements: Although I didn’t personally get anything, it was fun to see my friends get excited about unexpected vouchers and credits in their accounts. Although many are not happy with the concerts eligible for Ticketmaster’s free vouchers (that were given out as part of a class-action settlement), there was initial excitement about them. Also, if you purchased e-books from Amazon during a certain period, check to see if you have an Amazon credit in your account due to an eBook settlement.

2. Parental love: From the Mom who saved her son in Orlando shooting being laid to rest to the Kansas dad who purchased a head tattoo to match his son’s cancer scar, parents brought me to tears this week. Parenting is definitely not for the faint of heart!

3. The truth about blogging:  It was refreshing to see some blogging colleagues and friends share about the reality of professional blogging. As I tell interested friends and family members, “If you want the blogger perks, then you have to do the blogger work!”  (If you are interested in blogging for fun and/or profit, I can definitely help you start your own blog though.)

4. Fourth of July recipes: We have some tentative family plans. If they fall through, my husband Reggie will be firing up the grill (weather-permitting). If you need some help with your menu, read this 20 Fourth of July Recipes (Grilling, Simple Sides, Desserts & More) post.
