Hotel Pullman Paris Bercy

I’m not sure if I mentioned it here (or just on Facebook) but I have been desperately desiring to go to Paris for the last couple of years. I have no idea why (and I almost changed my mind when I saw Taken) but I just had this feeling that I needed to get there before I turned 40. Guess where I’m typing from? That’s right…Paris! Sometimes wishes come true in the most unexpected ways…

Last year, I covered a Special K event as a blogging assignment. Last year, they used a small clip that I was in as part of a web commercial, which was unexpected but a cool little financial bonus. This year they used another clip that I was in as part of 2 national commercials. The first one (New Year’s themed) ended up helping to round out my “stay at home until the kids are both in full day school” dream. The second one that played during the Olympics was a total surprise…and that was the one that ended up being used (in part) to fund my “Paris by 40 or bust” dream. I really am in the wrong profession. I need to be a commercial actress and live off of residuals! I’m totally joking…I interned at a talent agency while I was in college…I’m too thin-skinned for all of that rejection that (even great) actors get!

Anyway, I’m here in Paris with my mom (yay!) for a few days. Since the trip is short, I’m totally focusing on the “must see” attractions –  the museums, Eiffel Tower, riding along the Seine River and window shopping along the Champs-Elysees avenue. I will save the dining and shopping for my next visit 🙂

We are staying at the Pullman Paris Bercy. I’ll write more about how I picked the hotel later. (I’ll be putting together a little guide to Paris based on all of the input that I received from family, friends and professionals while planning this trip.) Meanwhile, I just want to “show as I go”!
