Mother’s Day Gifts from Birchbox

#birchboxlovesmoms

I attended a lovely Mother’s Day pampering event that was hosted by Birchbox and Amy Tara Koch. It was a fun, pampering time. I was able to catch up with some of my blogging colleagues (including Candace, Nancy and Victoria), get a manicure by Mimi Wilson and have a makeup touch up by Neil Scibelli.

While I was getting a manicure, I asked the nail technician about spring/summer nail trends. Pastels, metallic, and bold neons are the top three. I also asked if there was anything that I could do to make my manicures last longer since my manicures rarely ever last more than a couple of days. Applying a topcoat every other day was the answer.

Neil Scibelli, the makeup artist, was also really exceptional. I was not planning on getting a makeup touch up because my skin can sometimes have a negative reaction to new products. Neil thought that the Jouer Dahlia lip and cheek tint would look great against my brown skin though so I let him apply it. I’m glad that I did! I love the color so much that my husband Reggie included it in my Mother’s Day/ birthday gift order. (Neil also was kind enough to share some helpful spring/summer 2014 makeup trends.)

In any event Birchbox has some great gift options for moms. A couple of things that especially caught my eye as last minute Mother’s Day gifts from Birchbox include the following:

-The Birchbox for Baby Buggy pouch designed by actress and new mom Jenna Dewan-Tatum

-The Cynthia Rowley Beauty Spring Collection

Overall, the thing that I like the most about Birchbox is that I also have the option of ordering full-size specific items from their website in addition to the sample sizes that come in the monthly subscription boxes. What can I say? This mom likes options! ☺
