SprezzaBox Is One of My Husband’s Holiday Gifts

I considered doing a holiday gift guide for men until I remembered that my husband and I don’t really exchange Christmas gifts. Rather, we focus on the kids, the rest of our family, and people who have served us and/or our kids (teachers, building workers, and the like) throughout the year. This year, I am giving Reggie 3 gifts though.

1.) Tickets to a Knicks game. Shopping tip: If the only thing that your gift recipient cares about is seeing the game (like Reggie, a Knicks loyalist), get them a ticket to the Nets/Knicks game through the Nets website. It’s more cost-effective. It definitely won’t be an experience like the Jets media one that we had in October, but he will still be happy!

2.) A book that he wants. This isn’t really a gift. It’s more of an “I loaned out your copy of this book and never got it back” replacement. 🙂

3.) A photo gift. There is a family photo that he really likes so I’m getting a metal print of it for his desk at work.

Bonus Gift: SprezzaBox

Of the various items that my PR (public relations) friends pitched for men, the only one that piqued my interest was the SprezzaBox, a curated men’s subscription box. I was sent the November SprezzaBox – The Martin…

I previewed the subscription box before I showed it to Reggie. I thought that he would really like the tie and socks; be neutral about the pocket square and travel size toothpaste; and not like the lapel pin and bottle opener dog tag. How did I do? Perfect score…after 15 years of marriage, I know his tastes pretty well.

As a teacher, Reggie wears shirts and ties almost daily so the tie comes in handy. I was also happy about the socks. It’s fun to mix them up a bit. (Besides, it made me feel better about constantly “borrowing” Reggie’s socks. I don’t ever think to get socks of my own, so when it’s cold enough to wear boots, I usually wear his socks.) Reggie doesn’t really wear suit jackets that much unless we are going to a special event or he is preaching at church so I didn’t think that he would get much use from the pocket square. After reading the How To Wear A Pocket Square post on the Effortless Gent website, I now like the idea of him wearing it “butt pocket” style for casual wear. These three items together would normally cost $85 and the SprezzaBox is just $28/month.

I think that’s a really great deal. If you’re looking for any last-minute gift ideas for the men in your life, definitely consider SprezzaBox. In addition to the boxes, you can also buy items by the piece. Also, be sure to sign up for their email list. I did…and have received several relevant notices about special discounts, new offers and such.
