If you are looking for a tea house restaurant in the East Village to visit, I highly recommend Podunk NYC. A dear friend (who knows how much I love tea) treated me to tea and scones there as an after-birthday celebration. It’s such a sweet little spot. It’s a small space and the décor is eclectic and old fashioned. It feels like you’re eating in a grandma’s home.
The owner was a tea expert and helped both my friend and I pick out the perfect teas. I love scones and Podunk’s freshly baked ones were excellent. The clotted cream and jams that accompanied them were also wonderful. I will definitely visit this tea spot again.
