Earlier this month, the Museum of the Moving Image and DreamWorks Animation invited my family to attend a press preview of “The Art of Rise of the Guardians”. We had a great time seeing the new exhibition at MoMI that featured behind-the-scenes production design materials, artwork and video sequences from the Rise of the Guardians film that opened today (November 21st).
It was so interesting to see how the director, production designers and author worked together to create world for each of the six key characters in the film. The exhibit showcases original artwork (digital and on paper), fabrics used in the film face models, two film shorts and more. This exhibit, which will be on view until March 3, 2013, is a must-see for anyone who is interested in the process of making digitally animated features. Take a peek…
