January 2010

I mentioned in this post that I would be covering the Cottonelle Times Square event as a (paid) Mom Bloggers Club VIP Ambassador. I did that earlier today and I had even more fun than I had expected.

I was given a rose near the start. It was made of toilet paper, but that’s alright. Origami artist Sok Song made it for me and I’ll treasure it for a while…or until my kids rip it up (whichever comes first). There is a video of him making it in this short picture/video compilation of today’s events below:

Practically everyone whom I spoke to at the event was “Team Over” (Jen, Nicole, etc.) Well, I’m happy to report that I’m on the winning (for now) overall NYC team…we are a “Team Under” town. Everyone just assumed that NYC would be “Team Over” (more controlling) rather than “Team Under” (more laid-back). My friend Nicole said that she could see me being “laid back”. Really?! I must be mellowing with age…

Husband and wife Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling were at the studios for a little bit. They were great sports – playing with the Cottonelle puppies and talking with everyone. Dean (Team Under) and Tori (Team Over) were actually quite cute and sweet together. They seemed like they really have a fun, strong connection. If not, they are really good actors! (Relationship “expert” Dr. Gilda Carle agreed with Nicole and me that the couples affection for one another was genuine.)

I must say that my favorite part of the afternoon was cuddling the Cottonelle puppies. They are even more adorable in real life then they are on television! I’m SO glad that I didn’t have my sons with me. Michael saw a glimpse of one of the dogs and me in a picture. That was enough to start him up on the “I want a dog” spiel. (I want one too, but I don’t scoop poop of the dog variety. Sorry.) They were really cute though.

In any event, if you have not voted yet, go to www.CottonelleRollPoll.com and prove me right: “Team Under!”
