As a mother, I worry about my daughter’s college education. Just trying to get Liana into Pre-K this coming fall has turned out to be sooner than I thought and more challenging than I had imagined. This makes me think about college and what that will mean for our family.
On Wednesday I was able to attend the Upromise Tuition Tales campaign. There were many bloggers, teachers, kids and parents gathered to learn and support the Upromise Tuition program.
Included among the speakers was a mother of five who had three of her kids in college and two on the way – debt free. Her words of optimism and sprit of saving really motivates us to start earning for the future.
The highlight of the event was the statue of the biggest piggy bank, which was built by an afterschool program in the Bronx . It was great to hear how these elementary school kids learned about saving through the making of art. And all of this was sponsored and started by Upromise.

Upromise is a program that helps you save for college through your everyday dinning out, gas, groceries, shopping online or travel. Plus, your relatives and friends can also join to help you out. I will sign up because little by little a lot can be accomplished.
