This week, Always Infinity hosted a blogger cocktail event – “A Woman’s Infinite Confidence” – in NYC at Townhouse Spa. Mom in the City reviewer Issa Mas attended and shared her thoughts…

On Thursday, April 16th, I had the pleasure of attending a fabulous blogger event given by Always Infinity (the newest product from the Always brand). Besides introducing us to this great new product (which absorbs twice as much liquid as the leading ultra-absorbent brands without any of the bulkiness), they also introduced us to Dr. Rebecca Booth and her new book, The Venus Week. The Venus Week is a week for women during which we feel and look our best, and through Dr. Booth’s research it turns out that the week is no mere coincidence. That week is designed by nature to have us be at our very best because it facilitates – yep, you guessed it — pregnancy. The rest of the month however, when women are at their lowest hormone levels, we tend to feel bloated, crabby and exhausted. Sound familiar?

In this book, Dr. Booth explains ways in which to keep the fabulous feeling of the Venus Week virtually all month long, so as to escape the “blahs” we can sometimes feel due to estrogen lows. Among some of her suggestions; taking a multivitamin, along with Omega 3 and DHEA; keeping a cardiovascular regimen daily, along with adding Yoga and Pilates to your fitness routine; creating a diet that excludes white foods (rice, pasta, potatoes, sugar), and is high in plant protein which helps combat insulin resistance; and many other suggestions found in the book.

Along with some great sushi and a mini back chair massage, the evening wasn’t only amazingly informative, but also left with me with a “feel good” buzz as I went on with my evening. Thanks, Always Infinity and Dr. Booth, for some great “me time”, from an over-worked mother of a toddler!
