Congrats to the winner Denise French!
2/23 Update: Due to an injury, Serena Williams will not be participating in the BNP Paribas Showdown. Ana Ivanovic has been added as her replacement.
I’m taking a mini-break from my “vacation” to share this (great!) time-sensitive giveaway with you…
The 2010 BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup is going to be held at Madison Square Garden on March 1, 2010 at 7:00pm. (I know that it’s a school night, but I think it’s worth the effort to get a babysitter.) What is great is that one lucky Mom in the City reader will win a pair of tickets to the event thanks to Madison Square Garden.
I have not see the showdown (obviously), so here is a short description from Madison Square Garden:
Tennis returns to Madison Square Garden on Monday, March 1st! See the Grand Slam Champions battle it out for the Billie Jean King Cup. One-set singles semifinals followed by a best-of-three-set final for $1.2 million in prize money.
SERENA WILLIAMS — 2009 Australian & Wimbledon Champion, Defending Showdown Champion
SVETLANA KUZNETSOVA — 2009 French Open Champion
KIM CLIJSTERS — 2009 US Open Champion
VENUS WILLIAMS — Seven-time Singles Grand Slam Champion
Anyway, this is one of those blogging perks that my husband is actually looking forward to even more than I am. We saw Venus Williams play before, but we have never seen Serena. I’m going to be cheering on Kim Clijsters this time though (she’s a mom, I like her name, etc.)
Even if you don’t win the giveaway, Mom in the City readers still get $10 off select tickets with code NYCMOM here at The Garden.
The extra fun part (for me this time – sorry!) is that I can win a VIP package – 4 tickets to the event, 4 hospitality passes, a stay at the Essex House and a chance to submit interview questions to tennis star and fellow mom, Kim Clijsters – if I submit the best set of questions for Kim. Will you help me out by submitting suggested questions? I would really appreciate it.
To win the pair of tickets to the 2010 BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup, please let me know your favorite tennis player of all time in the “Comments” section below. For an additional entry, please let me know what question I should ask Kim Clijsters. Thanks and good luck!
Thanks to Madison Square Garden for the pair of tickets for the winner and the pair of tickets that they are giving to me.
