Seventh Generation’s New Botanical Disinfectants Giveaw

Congrats to the winner: Laura

You all know that I consider myself to be “light green”. One area that has changed over the last year or so is the type of cleaners that I use on most surfaces. I am using more natural cleaners. (It’s a start!) I have written about Seventh Generation before, so I was interested to try out their new disinfectant line. They sent me the following disinfectant kit to review:

· Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner

· Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner

· Disinfecting Wipes

· 100% Recycled, 90% post consumer Paper Towels

Here’s the thing. Cleaning is something that I do because it is necessary…not because I love to do it, so I don’t wax poetic about cleaning products. (Some people do – they love to clean.) I care if the products do what they claim to do…and these Seventh Generation ones clean well. They work just as well as disinfectants and cleaners with more dangerous chemicals. I especially like the disinfecting wipes. I keep them in the bathroom. Since I have three guys in the house, I’m constantly wiping down that room! On a related note, the fact that was interesting to me was that Seventh Generation uses the disinfecting power of the common garden herb thyme to kill germs in this new line. Did you know that thyme was a disinfectant? I didn’t. It was also good to learn that this is the first EPA registered disinfectant line that is approved to naturally “kill over 99.99 percent of germs” (including both the common and swine flu).

The great news is that Seventh Generation is providing the exact same kit to one Mom in the City reader. To win, please share the area of your home that you find yourself using disinfectant cleaners on the most. (The bathroom is mines…by far!) I will pick a random winner from the “Comments” section below on May 31st.
