When you hear the brand “Timberland” what do you think of? I think of boots. (When I was in high school, everybody had or wanted to have a pair of “Tims”.) Not only have I grown up but the Timberland brand has also. That’s why I was so intrigued to learn about the introduction of the Renova series by Timberland Pro. It’s a line of shoes in classic styles that are specifically designed for women who spend long hours on their feet at work (or at home). There are three styles in the line: Caregiver (slip-on clogs); Provider (sneaker styled) and Professional (leather slip-on shoes).

I received a free pair of the Professional shoes and they are very comfortable. I’m not on my feet all day though, so I have been trying to give my pair to one of my nurse friends. I have three friends that are nurses and a couple that are doctors but unfortunately, they all have a different sized foot than I do. Oh well…my mom is coming to visit next month for Thanksgiving, so I’ll give them to her.
This brings me to you and your mom (or mom-like figure). Timberland is working on a “Mom of the Year” type giveaway where one lucky Mom in the City reader will get a chance to win a pair of Timberland PRO Renova Series shoes ($60 – $100 value) of her choice and a recycled Renova tote bag, made from 100% recycled PET. (Okay, can I just say that when I read “recycled PET”, I thought, “huh?!” PET is polyethylene terephthalate.)
Anyway, this is a great opportunity to let your mom know how special she is to you. Go ahead… brag about her a little bit. Let me just say that my mom is AWESOME. I appreciate her more each year that I am a mom. I have no idea how she was able to raise my siblings and I primarily by herself. (My dad was in my life, but the brunt of childrearing is on the custodial parent in my opinion.) I can barely keep up with all of the homework that I get with just one kid in school AND I have a super-involved husband. It is beyond my comprehension how she managed to get five of us through school. I stand in awe!
