A-maze-ing Water NY Aquarium

As I mentioned in my post about the New York Aquarium sea lions, the main purpose of our aquarium “media” visit was to review the new 1,500-square-foot exhibit called A-maze-ing Water. This interactive exhibit, which is at the aquarium until September 9th, is focused on water conservation and the New York Seascape.

There are several great aspects to the A-maze-ing Water section. Although my sons were not in an arts & crafty mood, the other kids were enjoying the various art projects. Michael and Sean really enjoyed the maze portion of the exhibit though. Their favorite part was the zip line ride. (Michael did it so quickly that I couldn’t even capture him on video.) When we reached what we thought was the end of the maze, we realized that it really was a true maze. We had to circle around a few different times before we could figure out how to actually get out! I appreciated the fact that the kids learned educational facts in fun ways such as puzzles and spinning wheels. Since we went on the weekend, the kids also had the option of creating letters and art that would be mailed to local government officials to support clean water initiatives. Take a peek at the exhibit (photos and video) below:

There is still some time left to attend the A-maze-ing Water exhibit. For more information, you can visit www.nyaquarium.com/a-maze-ing-water. (You can also find 10% off tickets for the New York Aquarium at tickets.wcs.org.)
