Best Change To Living Place 2009: I Moved

December 13 What’s the best change you made to the place you live?.

This is another short answer. I moved. I think that where you live is very important. I loved living in Manhattan, but I did not love the educational system in the last area that I lived. (Harlem is “up and coming” but it takes time for the schools in an area to catch up.) Last year, I had a 3 – 4 hour daily commute to take Michael to pre-school in mid-town Manhattan. There was no way that I was going to do that another year. It was too much travel on the kids…and me! So, this summer, we moved to Forest Hills, Queens. It has one of the best school districts in NYC and it is close enough to Manhattan for me to get certain places there even more quickly then when I lived in Harlem. It is the best of both worlds. The best thing of all: Michael’s school is a 10 minute walk (tops!) from our home. That is why the best change to the place that I lived in 2009 was to actually change the place that I live!
