My personal benchmarks of success for 2013 (Part II)

bench·mark

1.
A standard by which something can be measured or judged

I wrote about my spiritual and relationship hopes in Part I. In this post, I will share about my other personal benchmarks for 2013. I will…

Career/Finances

-Consistently create quality content (words/photos/videos). I am especially excited about shooting more food photos and videos. Like most people, I learn best by practicing. As such, I intend on shooting at least one video a week this year.

-Be open to new partnerships and opportunities. I have always enjoyed learning and then turning around to teach a variety of things. Currently food (Foodie City Mom) and family activities (Mom in the City) are the main topics that I am focusing on. However, I am multifaceted (like most moms!) and there are several other areas that interest me. For instance, I have been coaching several women entrepreneurs over the past year and I have been thrilled with their progress. I have been fortunate enough to live out my dreams over the last decade. Perhaps I will listen to my mom, husband and hairdresser and expand my “follow your dreams” coaching and help (even more) women live out their dreams for the next decade.

-Give myself a raise. This was actually Michael’s suggestion. As our family was talking about our hopes for each other for the year, Michael came over and patted me on the shoulder. He said, “You work hard. I think that you should get a raise.” That was sweet, right? Then, he messed it up by saying, “I don’t think that you will get one, but I think that you deserve one.” Thanks kid. Little does he know that I set my own rates…so I followed his advice and gave myself a raise 🙂 !

Etcetera

-Be “bathing suit ready” for my 40th birthday. I don’t have a specific scale number associated with this goal, but I’ll know it when I hit it. My birthday is May 21st, so stay tuned…

-Do something new that is fun and/or educational (preferably both!) each month. I think that is kind of self-explanatory.

-Have, do, be or make something that I haven’t even dreamed up yet. I have never desired to “live in a box”. I have no intention to start limiting myself (or God) in 2013!
