Passover Recipes: The Best Brisket Recipe (And More)

When I asked my friends on Facebook, what they served for Passover, brisket was the practically unanimous answer! (Chicken and turkey were also mentioned.) As such, I wanted to share a couple f their ideas for both brisket and special Passover sides. Enjoy!

The “best” brisket recipes:

Monica Storch: She was kind enough to send me “the BEST” brisket recipe. Since I don’t have time to get the permission rights to share it, I’ll just point you to the source. It’s the “Sweet & Sour Brisket” from JOY OF COOKING. I have actually had that cookbook since I have been married. (This brisket is on page 675 in the 1997 printing…)

-Rebecca Levey: She had another “THE BEST!!!” brisket option. Joan Nathan’s Texas style brisket (as served to President Johnson) received her vote. You can find it in Jewish Cooking in America.

Ideas for Passover side dishes:

-Beth Feldman: “We have matzoh ball throw down. Heavy balls vs. Light Balls.” (Beth actually has some great Passover recipes – Chicken Fricassee and Stuffed Cabbage – from her grandmother over at http://www.rolemommy.com/blog/grandma-doras-passover-recipes.php.)

-Julie Meyers Pron: “Light Balls. Sesame Asparagus”

I know that Passover starts later today, so Happy Passover/ Chag Pesach Sameach to all who will be participating. If I left out a staple from your family’s Passover table, please let me know.
