The Dream Unfinished + Action Steps

The Dream Unfinished Community Reading of Frederick Douglass's speech, "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" -accompanied by Violinist + Calls to Action

What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?

Yesterday, I tuned in to a live community reading of Frederick Douglass’s speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”. The speech was made even more powerful by the violinist who accompanied the work.

The Dream Unfinished, a charitable collective of classical musicians and activists, hosted the reading. Donita Judge, an Associate Executive Director at the Center for Constitutional Rights, gave some practical tips at the end of the reading regarding how to continue pushing for a more equal society.

She specifically mentioned a Voting Revolution. We need to make sure that voters have an opportunity to vote and be counted. For practical action steps, you can visit the Center for Constitutional Rights.
