I won at Caesars Atlantic City!

I celebrated my 40th birthday earlier this week. I’m excited to see what this decade has in store. It definitely started off on a wonderful note. I already had everything that I wanted, so I brought my mom up to NYC for the weekend as my birthday “gift”. (She is the one who did all of the work 40 years ago anyway!) Once she arrived, we went to Caesars Atlantic City. My mom enjoys casinos and I appreciate spas, shopping and dining out…so it was the perfect mother-daughter weekend getaway.

I was able to get a media (discounted) rate on our room, which was nice. (If you have the flexibility to visit Caesars Sunday through Thursday, you will probably get an equally good discount. The weekends are just typically more expensive.) Our room was comfortable and the room service was reasonably priced. We were happy. You can take a peek of my room walk-through below:

Saturday was our packed day. While my mom was at the casino, I paid to go to the onsite Qua baths and spa (which I will share about in a later post) for a massage. The great thing was that once I had purchased the massage, I was able to stay in the spa and pool area for the rest of the day at no additional charge. With a whirlpool, a steam room and sauna, I could have stayed there for the rest of the day. I only stayed for an additional hour though, because I wanted to spend some time with my mom. We went shopping at nearby stores, ate dinner back at Caesars and then I went to the casino for a bit. I won a grand total of $70. That was fine though, because I only used the $25 credit that came from catching the bus from NYC to NJ.

My mom likes spending her money playing casino games. I don’t. Rather, I had fun spending my money at the spa, shopping and on food. That was the great thing about this visit – we both entertained ourselves. (I even shopped a little extra just because we were in New Jersey…I wanted to do my small part in helping out with New Jersey’s Sandy relief efforts 🙂 !) You can do well and do good simultaneously, right? In any event, I definitely “won” this past weekend at Caesars Atlantic City. The little casino winnings were a part of it. However, the most important “win” was being able to spend time with my mom, my best “girlfriend” in the world!
