Lovely Summer Nail Colors 2016 (with a Beautiful Backstory)

I love a great backstory. That is why I enjoyed chatting with Jin Soon Choi about her two new summer nail colors 2016 – “Blush” and “Crush”. For JINsoon’s first summer nail collection, Ms. Choi looked back to childhood in her South Korean village for inspiration. Applying the paste of petals to each nail to create tints was a special thing that she did with her girlfriends. “It was believed that if the color lasted until the first snowfall, one would marry their true love the following year.” How sweet!

That is why the JINsoon Summer 2016 nail collection is called the “Rose Balsam Collection”.  (Rose balsam is a well-known Asian garden flower.) Blush is a sheer pink nail polish tint. The manicurist used 3 coats of that on my fingernails. It’s the pink shade of my natural nails so the great thing is that it’s not obvious when I need a touch-up. Crush is a sheer bright orange tint similar to the color of balsam flower petals. I love this color for the summer and the pedicurist used this brighter shade on my toenails. What is especially great about the 2 shades is that they look great on a wide variety of skin tones. Both shades also have a subtle floral scent when they are dry on your nails.

Thanks so much to JINsoon for inviting me to a complimentary manicure and pedicure at their new JINsoon TriBeCa Spa location to experience their Summer 2016 Rose Balsam Collection. Since it was the day before my birthday, I made time in my calendar to enjoy this pampering treat! 🙂 You can find more information about the summer nail color collection at the JINsoon Nail Polish website.
