Ms. Linda’s Banana Pudding With Chessmen Cookies Recipe

Merry Christmas Eve! For Day 24 of the “A Dessert a Day ‘Til Christmas 2021″ series, I’m resharing this year’s most popular (among my offline friends) dessert – a banana pudding with chessmen cookies recipe.

I have several recipes that have become “friend and family favorites” this past summer. Today, I’m sharing one of them – a banana pudding with Chessmen cookies recipe.

A friend (who was barbecuing for my family) this summer had a taste for some banana pudding as dessert. My local bakery was out of stock so I made it myself for the first time. I have made it multiple times since then and it comes out great each time.

Ms. Linda (a mom-like church member) makes the BEST banana pudding so of course, I asked her how to make it. Her banana pudding with Chessmen cookies recipe is now my favorite “no-bake” dessert.

Recipe Notes

-This is basically the “Not Yo Mama’s Banana Pudding” from Paula Deen’s website. (I prepare it the way that Mrs. Deen does in her video, not the recipe instructions. It’s a little different.)

-Ms. Linda’s version is better because she adds 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg and 1 tsp vanilla.

-I also changed the sizes of the whipped cream and pudding mixes from the original recipe. The Cool Whip containers are 8 oz instead of 12 oz in my local stores and the French vanilla pudding mix comes in 3.4 oz packages instead of 5 oz ones as indicated in the original recipe.

-Lastly, I don’t like soggy cookies so I add the top layer of cookies right before I’m leaving/getting ready to serve the dish.

Don’t let the multiple steps stop you from making this dish. It’s actually really simple. If you’re looking for an easy no-bake dessert recipe, this banana pudding with Chessmen cookies recipe is definitely a great option.
