I have already raved about my friend Jennifer (Jennie) Perillo’s new book (Homemade with Love: Simple Scratch Cooking from In Jennie’s Kitchen) and shared my favorite recipe from the book. Earlier today, I attended a media book launch event at Jennie’s home in Brooklyn. It was so wonderful to catch up with so many of my friends whom I have known for many years (Beth, Isabel and Nicole) thanks to blogging. We are all doing our different things, so it takes something (or someone!) pretty special in order for us all to be together. It was also great to connect with several other blogging friends that I have grown to know throughout the years (Amy, Beth Rosen, Cristie, Jessica, Monica and Nancy).
Besides the great conversation, Jennie cooked some amazing food! I especially enjoyed the homemade cheese crackers and the vegetarian meatballs. I can’t wait to try those recipes from Jennie’s book. (I’m not anywhere near being a vegetarian but those lentil-ricotta meatballs were some of the best meatballs that I have ever tasted!)
