Amazon Prime Day 2023 is here! This year’s event takes place on July 11th and 12th. There are so many guides available with the “best deals”. Personally, I think that the best deal is buying what you already want (or wanted).
If you’re looking to save some money, here are a few tips:
- Sign up for a free 30-Day Prime Membership trial. This will give you access to all of the Prime Day deals, as well as free two-day shipping and other benefits.
I actually have a Prime Membership myself. Whenever my husband and I reevaluate our budget and think about items that can be cut out, I am adamant about keeping our Amazon Prime membership.
There are just so many benefits – free delivery and returns, videos, music, books and a lot of other exclusive deals. I even like their “Prime picks for this week” email newsletter.
- Be sure to check out the small business deals. Amazon supports many small businesses, and there are often great deals on products from these sellers.
If you want to specifically support small businesses on Prime Day, then you can visit amazon.com/primedaysmallbusiness where there are curated products from a variety of small business owner sellers – including Black-owned and female-founded small businesses.
- Don’t just buy things because they’re on sale. Only buy things that you actually want or need. Otherwise, you’re not really saving any money.
Here are a few ideas for products that you might want to check out on Prime Day:
- Back to school supplies. If you have kids going back to school, there are a lot of great deals on supplies like backpacks, notebooks, and pens. (There is also an off to college section.)
- Groceries. Amazon Fresh offers free two-hour delivery on groceries, so you can stock up on your staples without having to leave the house. I actually use Amazon Fresh each week to order my family’s groceries. I started doing that during COVID for safety reasons. It was so convenient and the prices are comparable to my local grocery stores so I just never stopped using the service.
- Electronics. There are always great deals on electronics on Prime Day, like TVs, laptops, and tablets.
- Home goods. If you’re looking to update your home, there are a lot of great deals on furniture, appliances, and decor.
- Special channels. If you want to try special channel deals there are several Prime Day specials for channels like Max, Paramount+, STARZ and the like.
Just make sure that you don’t pay for a channel that is already included in your home cable package! (Confession: I ordered STARZ before realizing that I already had access to it. Thankfully, it was quick and easy to cancel.)
Here are some additional tips for finding the best deals on Amazon Prime Day:
- Use a price tracker. There are a number of websites that can track prices on Amazon and other retailers. This can help you make sure that you’re getting the best possible deal. (You can even use the built-in price features for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome web browsers.)
- Be patient. The best deals sometimes sell out quickly, so be patient and don’t be afraid to wait for a better price.
- Check out the Lightning Deals. These are limited-time deals that are only available for a few hours. If you see something that you want, act quickly.
