Last night, I designed and decorated a cake at an event sponsored by Duff Goldman the star of the Food Network series “Ace of Cakes”. Duff created a new line of professional cake decorating supplies for at home bakers. I’m not much of a baker, but I like to eat cake…so the event was fun and informative. The fondant was a little tricky, but the rest of the supplies were very user-friendly even for an amateur like myself. Some of my blogging friends were able to make much more incredible looking creations. Overall, the line is very solid and reasonably priced (from $2.49 to $24.99, depending on the product). The majority of it is Duff speaking about his involvement with the line. (Much to his agent’s chagrin, he is not an easy sell regarding product endorsements. To me, that was refreshing.) Enjoy!
On a final note, I must share that the products make great cakes. I like cake, so I’m pretty easy to please. However, my husband is not a big fan of dessert…except for apple pies. That is why I was shocked when he asked me to save him another piece of the cake that I brought home. That was a first!
