Launch Party For Teri Hatcher’s GetHatched.com

I went to a party to celebrate the launch of the new website GetHatched.com last night. It was sponsored by DisneyFamily.com and Teri Hatcher. It was great to meet up with a few of my mom blogger friends including Nancy (who has one of the cutest baby bumps ever!) in the packed room. I didn’t stay really long, but I had fun while I was there. I needed to go and eat, because I was hungry. (I’m not smiling Kimberly when I’m hungry. I become “evil Kim”. You definitely don’t want to be around her….)

Anyway, I did meet Teri Hatcher. She was really pretty, warm and personable. She saw me waiting to take a picture and said, “You look like you want a picture.” She then proceeded to take my camera and take a photo of the two of us together….how sweet!

A little later, Teri spoke a bit about her new site. She wants to inspire women by sharing and providing advice on this new lifestyle blog for women. There will be a variety of women and experts contributing content to the site. (I was happy to see my video blogging friend, Amy of Selfish Mom, on one of Teri’s videos.) As I’m moving Mom in the City more towards being a lifestyle blog for city moms, I appreciate what Teri is trying to do. I will definitely share more about the Mom in the City evolution next month/the fifth anniversary. Let’s just say that “my guys” are getting more and more private and I want/need to respect that.

GetHatched. com just launched today. I took a look at it. I like that it has nice, clean lines with bright pops of color. (You all know that I’m a minimalist/don’t care for “busy” sites.) Content-wise, it’s a good start. I think that it will probably get even better over time as Teri gets more comfortable in this new role. I know that she wants the site to be fun and she seems like a really funny person. That is why I believe that the more her true personality is able to shine through, the better the site will be. (For instance, at one point in her speech, Teri said, “And now… for the striptease portion. Oh no, I forgot this is a Disney project!”) She had a really great delivery. Also,it was obvious that Teri wants to meet and work with more moms who blog (she gave a “shout out” to mom bloggers in her short speech). That is smart since some mom bloggers are the best lifestyle bloggers out there…period. In any event, I think that there is room for all types of blogs, so check out GetHatched com. The more blogs, the merrier…
