My Rachael Ray Show Experience

I hope that everyone had a great school break last week. The last couple of weeks have been a fun blur for my family so I’ll be sharing it on the blog this week. Today, I’m writing about my visit to the
The Rachael Ray Show

I’m not a fan of long lines, so I usually don’t try to be in the audience of various NYC shows. My friend Felicia had guaranteed show tickets though and I wanted to spend some time with her so I went. I’m so glad that I did. We didn’t have to wait in the long line and the taping was fun! While we were waiting for the taping to begin, I was asked if I wanted to ask a question. I agreed and it turned out that I asked a question to Buddy Valastro, the Cake Boss. (His Thanksgiving turkey cake recipe happens to be one of the most popular ones on this site during the holiday season.)

After watching the segment I decided that there are two things that I want to follow me around in life – my bathroom lighting and this television camera! While the camera does seem to add pounds (Rachael Ray looks much slimmer in person), it sure makes everyone’s skin look more radiant! Anyway, we had a great time as the various segments were taped. (I was able to go back and sit with my friends after I asked the question.) My friends joked that I should start my own show, “Kim’s Korner” and they even came up with segments that started with the “K” sound – Kids, Cooking, etc. No thanks. Although it looks fun, I realize how much time, energy and attention pursuits like that take.

Rachael Ray was cool and funny in between segment takes. She fried her chicken differently than I fry my southern fried chicken but it looked really good. I wanted some, but unfortunately, I didn’t get to taste any of her cooking. 🙁 I (along with the rest of the audience) did get an issue of the Rachael Ray Every Day magazine. We also received a gift certificate for an iHome Zenergy Candle. It looks really relaxing with the color, light and sound therapy as well as the guided breathing feature.

Overall, I enjoyed being in the audience at The Rachael Ray Show. It really is good to constantly try new things!
